Following in her fathers profession, Dr. Donelson studied Optometry and graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1986. She joined Dr. Jane Newman in practice that year in Waterloo. She completed advanced training in diagnosis and management of ocular disease from North Eastern State University in Oklahoma, receiving certification in 1995. A regular attendee at continuing education sessions in Canada and the United States, she is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the Canadian Association of Optometrists.
Dr. Donelson has been a resident of Waterloo since 1980 and, with her husband Rob, has raised their five children there. Along with her local community involvement over the years, Dr. Donelson has participated in two eye mission trips with Volunteer Optometric Services for Humanity (VOSH) providing eye examinations and glasses in rural Guatemala and an international build project in Nicaragua.
Dr. Donelson retired in August 2017. We know she will be missed by many, but her patients can be confident they will continue to receive the same excellence in care from the other doctors and staff at our clinic. We wish her a Happy Retirement and many adventures for the years ahead.
